Fans aren’t pleased about the new console’s hefty price tag
Sony has issued fans with an update on the PS5 Pro console any many people are saying the same thing about it.
The PlayStation 5 was released back in 2020 and now an upgraded version is set to hit shelves very soon.
Sony promises that the PS5 Pro will be ‘the most visually impressive way to play games’ and hailed the console as its ‘most advanced and innovative console hardware to date’.
Part of a media release shared by Sony today (September 10) says of the PS5 Pro: “We developed PS5 Pro with deeply engaged players and game creators in mind – as many have asked for a console that runs even higher fidelity graphics with smoother frame rates at 60FPS.
“We achieved this on PS5 Pro with several key performance features.”
Some of these features include upgraded GPU, advanced ray tracing and AI-driven upscaling.
As to when you’ll be able to get your hands on one, the PS5 Pro will be available to purchase on November 7 – just eight weeks away.
The wait isn’t what has left gaming fans aggrieved, however, but the console’s hefty price tag.
When the PS5 was released five years ago, it cost $499.99 while the digital edition cost $399.99.
But the new and improved version will set you back substantially more and is priced at $699.99.
People have since shared their thoughts online of the PS5 Pro’s pricing and many aren’t happy about it.
“Hell nah bro way to expensive that’s insane,” one person wrote on Twitter.
“$700 in this economy is diabolical,” fumed another.
A third person argued: “Not enough games on the platform to warrant this price.”
Meanwhile, others hailed it as a ‘rip off’ as some said they’re simply going to wait for the PlayStation 6 to be released.
