The family tragedy is reported to have happened in their apartment in Villingen-Schwenningen, Germany.
The police said that a 45-year-old woman is known to have killed her two sons first and then herself.
According to foreign media, it was the husband and father of the children who found his wife and two sons, 14 and 16 years old, dead in the apartment on Tuesday evening.
